Features

Let us first explain the three roles.

Move the Dot starts by showing how someone already creates value for customers. Every result is one of three clear roles: Host, Storyteller or Operator.

The Host

Heart + Hands

Hosts make people feel personally expected. Their warmth becomes visible through thoughtful actions, remembered details and genuine attention.

T

The Storyteller

Heart + Head

Storytellers turn knowledge into an experience. They read people and explain products, choices or solutions in a way customers understand and enjoy.

T

The Operator

Hands + Head

Operators make excellence repeatable. They combine craft with structure, helping quality stay consistent even when service gets busy.

Guest Whisperer

A quiet coach, always on the floor.

The Guest Whisperer lives on a screen where your team already works. It offers short, practical phrases and coaching hints that match the moment in front of them.

It also reads the world around your business. You tell us your location once, right at the top of the setup, and news, local events and the weather for your area flow into the suggestions. If rain is expected at four, it might whisper: offer an umbrella before the guest even asks.

And when nobody interacts with the screen for about fifteen minutes, the inactivity module steps in. Instead of going dark, it gently surfaces a fresh coaching moment so the screen keeps earning its place in the room.

Journeys, part of Guest Whisperer

Guide each guest moment, step by step.

Journeys live inside Guest Whisperer. They walk colleagues through a real situation one clear line at a time, from welcoming a guest to handling a complaint.

Managers can create Journeys in the language of their own business. This makes them useful for onboarding new colleagues and reinforcing standards during everyday service.

Completed Journeys are saved to the colleague's account and reflected in progress analytics.

A colleague opens Journeys and picks the situation they are walking into. Each Journey is a short, guided sequence of clear lines.
SOS menu showing nine situations, from a guest arriving to an angry guest, a complaint or a guest who is unwell.
One tap on SOS opens the situations colleagues meet most, with the hardest ones highlighted. They choose what is in front of them and get immediate words to use.
SOS

Support for difficult moments.

When something difficult happens, colleagues can open the SOS button and choose the situation in front of them.

Nine large tiles keep the most urgent moments easy to find, including an angry guest, a long wait, a complaint, a mistake, service recovery and something being out of stock.

The colleague gets useful words and a clear action immediately, so a difficult moment can become a recovery moment.

Team Manager Map

See your whole team on one map.

Every completed test places a person on the Heart, Hands and Head map. As a manager you see the whole team at a glance: who leads with warmth, who thrives on craft and who wins with knowledge.

The map is not a ranking. It shows how each person already creates value and where a small nudge can make the biggest difference for your guests.

Onboarding and training

An onboarding and training tool, not just a test.

Move the Dot is built to train people, not to label them. New colleagues learn your standards through Journeys in their first weeks. Experienced staff keep growing through daily coaching moments and SOS support.

Because training happens inside real working moments, it does not fade after a workshop. It repeats every day, in small doses, exactly where service happens.

Coming winter 2026

Guest Today

Soon you will be able to add the guests you expect today, together with their preferences. The Guest Whisperer will then coach your team around the people actually walking through the door, from a favourite table to a remembered allergy.

Coming 2027

Share best practices with your colleagues.

Soon colleagues will be able to share what works with each other. When someone finds a phrase or a move that turns a difficult moment around, they can pass it on, so the whole team keeps getting better together.

What is next for Journeys?

Your own procedures, live operational timing and expert best practices, all inside one Journey system.

What it is built on

Grounded in research, fed by the real world.

15 years of training materials

Training materials and notes from the School for Butlers and Hospitality, built while training the biggest hospitality brands in the world.

100+ training transcripts

Notes captured during real training sessions, so the coaching language sounds like a trainer, not like a textbook.

Approved hospitality literature

The standards used to determine outcomes are aligned with the criteria international luxury inspectors use to evaluate service.

Meeting transcripts

Real conversations from real hospitality teams keep the language grounded in daily operations.

Mystery visit reports and online reviews

Findings from anonymous service evaluations and what guests write online feed the situations and phrases.

University research

The test design builds on university studies in situational judgment testing and forced-choice psychometrics, so people reveal how they act instead of how they want to be seen.

Adapted to your industry

The same dot, in your language.

Move the Dot adapts to the industry you work in. The test questions, the coaching phrases and the team DNA all shift to fit a restaurant, a hotel, retail or care, because a difficult moment at a front desk is not the same as one at a table.

Managers can go one step further and tune the content to their own company, so the system sounds like your business, not like a generic training.

What is happening today

Everyone who faces a customer knows what is going on.

A manager can add whatever is happening in the company or in the building right now, in one line. Everyone who speaks to customers sees it the moment they open the Guest Whisperer, so nobody is caught out by news they never heard.

The coaching takes it into account too. When there is building work at the entrance or a large group arriving, the words your team gets already fit the situation in front of them.

  • A lift or a machine is out of service
  • An event or a large group in the building today
  • Building work, noise or a closed entrance
  • A promotion running this week
  • Something temporarily unavailable or sold out
  • Longer waiting times than usual
